Orange Shirt Day has been observed on September 30 annually for several years. In June 2021, the Federal Government passed legislation formally recognizing September 30 as the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation.
The U of T community is invited to attend a commemorative event on September 30 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the Great Hall at Hart House (7 Hart House Circle, Toronto). Students, librarians, faculty and staff can register to attend in-person or watch the live stream online.
Learn more about the significance of Orange Shirt Day and remember to wear an orange shirt on September 30 in the spirit of reconciliation. Doing so affirms that “Every Child Matters.” You can wear any orange shirt to show your solidarity.
