Appointment of Interim Director, Division of Engineering Science 2022-23/4

I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Associate Professor Peter R. Grant as Interim Director of the Division of Engineering Science for a term of six months, effective January 1, 2023.

Peter joined the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies (UTIAS) in 2002 as an Associate Professor, coming from Ford Motor Company’s Ford Research Laboratory.

Since 2017, Peter has served on the FASE Undergraduate Curriculum Committee, the UTIAS Curriculum Committee, and as the Aerospace Major Chair. He has taught many EngSci courses including AER302, AER406, AER503 and ESC301. He was most recently the Associate Director, Curriculum, for the Division of Engineering Science.

Please join me in thanking Peter for serving in this important leadership role for the Faculty.

On behalf of the Faculty, I also extend my sincere gratitude and appreciation to Professor Aimy Bazylak for her leadership of the Division of Engineering Science for the past 6 months. She has been a tremendous advocate for Engineering Science, its initiatives, and especially its students during this time. Thank you, Aimy.
